John Dean Norman, 73, of Mace died Thursday afternoon, Nov. 3, 2016, at home.

He had worked for RR Donnelley’s and was a farmer. He served in the Army in Vietnam.

He was a member of Mace United Methodist Church, where he held several offices; served on the South Montgomery School Board; was a member of 4-H Inc., where he served as president; was a 10-year 4-H member; and had a passion for showing pigs. Most importantly he loved watching his grandkids show pigs and enjoying the fair.

He was a graduate of New Ross High School.

He was born Sept. 28, 1943, at Crawfordsville, to Charles J. and Vivian (Armstrong) Norman. He married Carole Chavers. She survives.

Other survivors include: sons, Mike (Melissa) Norman and Jeff (Shelle) Norman; brother Dennis (Sandy) Norman; sister Carolyn Sering; and six grandchildren, Conner, Bella, Beck, Nick, Drew and Macee.
