John David Rogers, 69, of Madison, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at UVA Hospital in Charlottesville, VA with family by his side.
He was born at Bethesda Naval Hospital on April 29, 1953, the son of the late Calvin Lee Rogers and Kathryn (Funk) Rogers Moore formerly of Rowlesburg and Manheim, WV.
He was a 1971 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School. He retired from Dulles International Airport as a Communications Systems Specialist. He was an avid Washington Redskins and WVU fan. He enjoyed spending time riding his 4-wheeler and deer hunting in WV. He was even a founding member of the Walnut Hollow Hunting Club in Rowlesburg, WV. John was a kind soul and had a one-of-a-kind contagious laugh.
John is survived by his two children, David Rogers and Kristen Rogers both of Madison, VA; two grandchildren, Finley and Charlotte Miller; sister Judy Goble and husband Jim Weimer of Mechanicsburg, PA; two nieces, Chantal Harrison and husband Scott of Plainfield, IL and Devon Goble and husband Larry Vallier of Gonzales, LA and many special cousins and several aunts.
As well as his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Art Goble and longtime best friend Johnny Horvath.
