John Darryl Alston, 51, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2016. John was an avid adventurer and full of life. He loved to cook, laugh, and there was rarely a time he wasn’t cracking a joke or telling a funny story. He graduated from Reidsville High School and attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He worked for Lowe’s Home Improvement for over twenty years until retirement and, most recently, he was attending classes at the University of Louisville.
He was preceded in death by his mother: Eva Alston, his father: J. G. “Doc” Alston, and his brother: Richard Alston.
Surviving are daughters: Katelyn Blalock of Durham; Kayla Alston, Cameron Alston, Eva Alston and Lauren Alston, all of DeWitt, Michigan; his twin brother: Tom Alston (Ana) of Greensboro; his stepmother: Vicky Alston of Reidsville; and siblings: Mary Beth Richardson of Charleston, S. C., and Dean Richardson (Amy) of Burlington.
