John Daniel “JD” Green, age 83, peacefully passed away surrounded by family Sunday evening, June 2, 2019 after a prolonged battle with Lewey Body Dementia.
He was born November 26, 1935 in Gooding, Idaho to Thelma Dolly Kirtland and Leland LeRoy Green. He is the eldest of 4 children. John spent his youthful years growing up on a farm in Hagerman Valley Idaho. He attended Hagerman High School and upon graduation, he joined the Air Force and did a tour of 4 years where he was stationed in California; Biloxi, Mississippi; Midway Island; and San Antonio Texas where he met his sweetheart, Shirley Marlene Shuler. They were married on December 27th, 1958 in San Antonio, Texas and shared 60 ½ years of blissful marriage. After he got out of the Air Force in September of 1958, they moved to Provo, Utah where he attended Brigham Young University (BYU) and later transferred to Utah State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in the College of Forest, Range and Wildlife Management, with a Major in Fishery Management.
