John D. Wright, age 61, of Salem, died at 9:13 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2013 in the Emergency Room of the Salem Community Hospital. He was born December 3, 1952 in Salem, son of Jean (Beighley) Wright and the late Ray A. Wright. John had been employed at the former Sekely Tool & Die as a die maker and was a life member of the Salem AMVETS Post #45. He was a member of the AMVETS Drill Team and was also an AMVETS trustee and volunteer. He served in the U.S. Army. John loved his dogs, Spike and Nika, and enjoyed drawing and playing his guitar. Preceding him in death was his father, Ray; a sister, Gail Wright; and a brother, Jim Wright. Survivors include his mother, Jean Wright of Salem; companion, Tina Ketchum of Salem; two sisters, Mary Jo Kelley of Salem and Debra Wright of Youngstown; grandchildren, Logan Ketchum, Gracie Ketchum and Lillian McKinney; and several nieces and nephews.
