John D War Bonnett Jr. ( High Flying Eagle) Lokota, 60, passed away on Sunday September 8th 2019 at his home in Lodgepole MT. John was born on March 12, 1959, in Alliance, NE, to John and Inez(Little Chief) War Bonnett Sr. He was the second oldest of 8 Children born to this union, Floyd, Phyllis(Wright) Glen, Fred, Jim, Dan and Larry. John was mostly working as a Ranch hand Farming and Mechanics. He loved his family and grand children and would always protect and tease them. Best to describe John is that he was a very stoic, compassionate, loving person that practices his native culture in the Lakota ways. John married Tina Mae Birdtail in Alliance, NE on October of 2007. No children were born to this union, He raised his son Kyle War Bonnett on his own and has 3 step children Monte C Fox Jr, Darnell R (Pokey) Fox, Ashely E. Fox(Hawley). He also has helped raised 2 grandchildren, Halen & Ricky. John and Tina were very blessed to have met and loved unconditionally with each other. John is survived by his wife Tina War Bonnett, His son Kyle War Bonnett, step children, Monte Fox Jr., and Ashley (Fox) Hawley, siblings Phyllis of Rapid City, SD, Glen of Wichita KS, Fred of Beardstown, IL, and Daniel of Lincoln NE. grand children Halen and Ricky. and Many Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles, and friends. John is preceded in death by his parents John & Inez War Bonnett, brothers Floyd, Larry, and James. and step son Darnell (Pokey) Fox.
