John D. Rockwood, age 81, of Plymouth, formerly of Boston and Brockton, passed away on Tuesday, May 17th, at his home in Plymouth. He was the devoted husband of Noel K. (Mannion) Rockwood. Former husband of the late Ann (Dennison) Rockwood. He was the father of 6 children, and 2 late children. Grandfather of 8 grandchildren, and 1 late grandchild. Great grandfather of 8. John is also survived by his sister Phyllis Rockwood of Sheridan IN, and many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, as well as many great great nieces and in Boston on March 18, 1941, son of the late Charles F. and Mary H. (Gowen) Rockwood. John graduated from the Boston Technical High School, and later served his country in the United States Army before attending Northeastern University. He made his career as an architectural draftsman. John and Noel loved to travel, and take road trips. They especially loved visiting Jamaica. John was incredible at working with his hands, having built the deck on the family home. As well as numerous home improvements. He also loved to read the daily newspaper and work on puzzles, and crosswords. He will be sorely missed by the many friends and family that loved him.
