John D. Morrison, 49, of Otsego, passed away at 3:40 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2012, at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis after an extended illness.
He was born in Plainwell, Mich., to John R. and Janet F. (Smith) Morrison on Jan. 21, 1963. Along with his father, John was also preceded in death by a brother, Roderick. His mother, Janet, survives.
Also, surviving is his sweetheart, best friend, and mother of his children, Lori S. Sparks; daughters Randi and Autumn Morrison; sons Nathan, Dakota, Joseph, Indiana, Joshua, and Michael Morrison, all of Shipshewana; sisters Ann M. (Steve) Pegg of Otsego and Lauri F. (Rick) Frichtl of Paxton, Ill.; and brothers Gregory A. (Susan) Morrison of Jonesville and Bradley S. (Sarah) Morrison of Vicksburg.
John was a farmer and a meat cutter at several area Michiana grocery stores for many years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a diehard University of Michigan fan. He enjoyed spending his free time with his children.
