John D. ‘Jack’ Wieseman, age 90, of Osceola, Nebraska, passed away March 10, 2020 at Ridgewood Rehabilitation and Care Center in Seward, Nebraska.
Jack was born October 30, 1929 in Osceola to Carl and Glenna (Matheson) Wieseman. He graduated from Osceola High School in 1947. He then attended one year of college at Nebraska Wesleyan. Jack served in the United States Air Force from December 28, 1950 to September 4, 1954. He was united in marriage to Donna Carlson in 1955 and to this union four children were born.
After returning from the service he moved to Osceola and farmed with his dad. In 1974 he partnered with Keith Miller to own and operate Osceola Implement, which they ran until the mid 1980’s.
He was united in marriage to Mary (Brown) Rempe in September of 1981.
They moved to Lincoln where he managed two hardware stores and later worked as a handyman for Dan and Jeannie Cuda Property Management Co. until retiring at the age of 85. On March 25, 2019 Jack moved to Ridgewood Rehabilitation and Care Center in Seward where he resided until his passing.
He enjoyed gardening, mowing, doing house maintenance, genealogy, history, woodworking, and telling stories. He was a season ticket holder for Nebraska baseball and football games. Baseball was his passion, he always enjoyed watching a good game.
He was a member of the Osceola American Legion William Wolfe Post #91, and Masonic Lodge #65 in Osceola. He served on the Osceola School board, was a member of Ryan Hill Country Club, an original member of the Bucktail Lake Association and the Huskers Home Run Club.
Survivors include his children: Vicki (Mitchell) Coffin of Lincoln, Mary Jo Wieseman-Ciurej of Ashland, Janet (Steve) Bartek of Valparaiso, John Patrick (Linda) Wieseman of Osceola, step-daughter Susan (Paul) Spieker of Malcolm; grandchildren:  Cheston (Evamarie) Coffin, Zachary (Natalie) Coffin, Emily (Abraham) Coffin, Caleb (Tiffany) Alcorn, Becky (Richard) Zatloukal, Rachel (Brian) Moore, Jesse Bartek, Jared (Becca) Bartek, John Andrew (Amber) Wieseman, Tyler (Miranda) Smith, Townzen (Jessica) Smith, Samantha Spieker, Tony Spieker, Jessie Spieker, Gregory Rempe; 29 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary; step-son Greg Rempe; and his parents.
