John D. Carr, 87, passed away on October, 19, 2015. John was born in Manchester, Ohio in 1928. He served in the US Army, during WWII and the Korean War and received the Meritorious Service Medal. He retired after 20 years of service as a Master Sergeant. John was a member and Past Master of Solomon’s Lodge #121; Past Worthy Patron of Eastern Star Chapter #47; member of the Scottish Rite, Boumi Temple Shriners, Elk and Moose Lodges.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Helen D. Carr; and his brother, Joseph Howell.
John is survived three daughters, Diane Shelsby and her husband, Charles; Cathy Carr-Dadin and her husband, Larry; Patricia Zartman and her husband, Patrick. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
