John A. Coler, age 89, of Lisbon, former Columbiana resident, died at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at the Vista Center in Lisbon, Ohio. He was born July 24, 1927 in Canfield, Ohio, the son of the late Howard E. and Mabel A. (McNamee) Coler.

He worked at Crucible Steel in Midland, Pennsylvania for 20 years, and retired as a Quality Control Inspector. John was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during WWII and Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Janice K. (Murphy) Coler, whom he married December 5, 1976; a son, Lee (Arlene) Coler of San Antonio, Texas; two daughters, Nancy (Jobe) Dailey of Lisbon, and Terra (Paul) Barker of Florence, South Carolina; eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a son, John H. Coler; and a brother, Edward E. Coler.
