John Clayton Adams, 87, of Indianapolis passed away October 10, 2022, at Community Hospital South. He was born July 11, 1935, in London, Kentucky to the late Terry and Francis (Root) Adams. John was preceded in passing by his wife Elaine Adams. John was a proud self-employed plumbing and excavating contractor for over 50 years. John was a skilled UNO player and took great joy in his success.
John is survived by his children; Gene Adams (Tina), Carol Kern (Doug), Barbara Reed, John W. Adams, and Shelaine Torongeau, step-son; Tiger Burden (Connie); ten grandchildren and four step-grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings; June Overbey (late Troy), Carl Adams (Lucy), Elmon Adams (late Betty Lou), Sue Wilson (Dennis Taylor), Dean Adams (Faye), sister in law Phyllis Adams (late Ezekias Adams). In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in passing by his son John C. Adams; siblings Henry “Ross” Adams (June), Clarence Adams (Mary Jane), Leonard “Preacher” Adams (Ruby Lee), George Willie Adams, and Randall Adams (Clara)
