John Christy, age 83, of Christy Creek Road, Morehead, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018.
Born May 9, 1935, in Rowan County, he was the son of the late George and Nannie Link Christy. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers: Jimmy, Dennie, George, and Chester Christy, and three sisters: Dorothy Miller, Mary Mae Christy, and Viola McKeighen.
John’s wife, Eula Mae Nickell Christy, whom he married April 26, 1958, passed away December 5, 2015.
He is survived by one son, Carl Christy and wife Denise of Morehead; one daughter, Cathy Christy of Morehead; five grandchildren: Christy Kissick, Joe Leon, John “Scooter” Christy, Ummie Leon, Mandy Kiskaden; and nine great grandchildren: Trent, Bryce, Noah, T. J., Trinity, Jack, Layla Mae, Amador, and Ezekiel.
Also surviving are two siblings: his brother, Billy Christy of Morehead, and his sister, Lena Keenan of Muncie, Indiana; several nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
