Years of illness had compelled John Charles Veale to retire from his life’s work, but that did not mean he was any less a servant of God. He lived each day with the hope that when he met the God who created him, he would hear the words, “Well done, My good and faithful servant”. On February 11th, that dream became reality after a long struggle with lung disease. John will be greatly missed by his wife Miriam Bridges Veale; his son Corry Veale, both, of Newnan; his parents, Corry and Eva Veale of Chamblee; brother Tony Veale of Lawrenceville and his wife Kathy and their son Tory; sister, Lynda Bentley of McRae and her husband Jimmy and their daughters, Molly Ussery and Tara Lammers and their son Dale Martin. John was preceded in death by his beloved son Daniel Young Veale.
John was an active member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Newnan and valued the many bonds of friendships made there. John worked for many years with Boy Scout Troup 45 at Sargent Baptist Church in Newnan and was very proud of all the scouts he mentored and followed with interest as they matured into adulthood. John was a loving son, a faithful and loving husband and an exemplary father who was more likely to laugh than frown whenever possible.
