John Schikner passed away suddenly on Friday night, March 31, 2017 at his home in Madison, AL. He is survived by his wife Lois of 56 years, son Jeff and his wife Misty from Madison, AL, son Robb and his wife Eliana from Dallas, TX, and grandchildren Haley, Michelle, Matthew and Sulijah. John was born in Baltimore MD on Sep. 15, 1936, hired into NCR Corporation, moved to Dayton, OH, and retired after 37 years as Director of Education. In his retirement, he built custom homes and was a consultant to a family-owned business. John moved to Madison in 2008, was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, and spent time watching his grandchildren in school and sporting events. He will be missed by family and friends.
