John A. Ceccarelli (Choo Choo), age 92, of Milford, husband of the late Mary Hessinger Ceccarelli, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015. Born on January 1, 1923 in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary Castoldo Ceccarelli. John was proud to serve in the US Army during WWII and was awarded a Purple Heart, the European African Middle Eastern Theatre Campaign Ribbon, the American Theatre Campaign Ribbon, the WWII Victory Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was employed at Bridgeport Brass for over 31 years.
John leaves behind his loving children to cherish his memory; his daughter, Linda Ceccarelli Delillo and her husband John; his son, John A. Ceccarelli II; and his daughter, Laura Lee Janik. Additionally, his grandson, Joseph Janik Jr., who held a very special place in his heart. He is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Sarah Ceccarelli, Carmalina Ceccarelli and Catherine Ceccarelli; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. John was predeceased by his brothers, Benny, Angelo, Ralph and Patsey and his sisters Jenny Bavolacco and Viola DiMinco.
