John Charles Winder, 68, of 328 Brandon Ave. Williamsport, died Friday, November 4, 2011 at his home.

    Born December 18, 1942 in Williamsport, he was a son of Robert S. Winder and Pauline H. Lanning. He had worked as a welder. John enjoyed working on cars, fishing, hunting, and playing cards, especially 31. He loved watching wrestling every Monday, Thursday, and Friday, football and the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR and Tony Stewart. John was a member of 40&8 and American Legion Post 1.

     Surviving are his wife Rita Winder, a son Wayne Small (Wendy) of Easley, SC, two daughters Melissa Scouten (Murl) and Tasha Liddic (Nathan) both of Williamsport, eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, four sisters Cecelia Hess of Westminster, Ca, Roberta Smith of Montoursville, Patricia Wasaff and June Jacopetti both of Williamsport, 2 half-brothers Enoch Winder and Robert Winder, and a half-sister Melinda Winder.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Russ Lanning, and a sister Jean Winder (Frazier).
