John C. Ritskowitz, 69, of Bristol passed away at the CT Hospice in Branford on Friday evening, April 29, 2016 with his family at his side. Born on October 20, 1946, in Manhattan, John was the son of the late John and Patricia (Haggerty) Ritskowitz. John graduated from Norwalk High School, earned his Business Administration Degree from Norwalk Technical College and his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from the Bridgeport Engineering Institute. He worked as a mechanical engineer in plastics manufacturing and then for the Norden Division of UTC. John was a born salesman with a wonderful sense of humor. A social butterfly, he made friends everywhere he went throughout his lifetime. He looked forward to his weekly card games, going on long walks, listening to music and beating the contestants nightly on jeopardy. A sports enthusiast, he was an avid golfer. He was a huge fan of any NY sports teams, especially his beloved NY Giants, Jets and Yankees. Most of all, John had an immense love for his family. He delighted in being a father and his children and grandchildren meant everything to him. John cherished the time they spent together. John is survived by his children, Kathleen Wilson and husband Michael and their daughter, Bria of North Branford; James Ritskowitz, and his significant other, Josephine Ahern and James’ son Jack of Berlin; Michael Ritskowitz of Middletown and his children Evan and Liam; and Daniel Ritskowitz and his wife Cecelia and their daughter Alyssa of Rocky Hill; his siblings, Donna Rodgers, Dennis Seeley, Deborah Kernan, Patricia Rosati, Tracey Harrison and Beth Straight, his companion, Gloria DiMichele of Bristol; and his dear friend Patricia Bolger of Cheshire, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his son, John David Ritskowitz and his brothers, Raymond and David Beavers. Relatives and friends may call on John’s family on Wednesday evening, May 4, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
