John C. (Jack) Kelly, age 85, a longtime resident of Laurel Beach in Milford and beloved husband and best friend of 60 years to the late Doris Monahan Kelly, passed away with peace and dignity with his loving family by his side while listening to music of the 40’s that he and his wife loved, on Saturday, August 16, 2014, at Milford Hospital.  Jack was born in the Bronx, NY on August 29, 1928, and was the son of the late John and Jeannette Sternberger Kelly.   Jack was a proud American who served with honor and distinction in the United States Army during World War II and Korea in the infantry and was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Silver Star.  Jack was a longtime executive in the textile industry who went on to obtain his real estate brokerage license at the age of 80 and became Vice President of his real estate firm.  Jack was a world traveler, avid golfer and voracious reader.  He completed several marathons, his first one at the age of 48.  More than anything, he will be remembered for being a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by all.

Jack is survived by his devoted children, Catherine Sauve (Jerome) of St Louis, MO, Barbara Brunau (Terry) of Milford, Pamela Ralston (Jim) of Milford, John Kelly, Jr. (Claire) of Yorktown Heights, NY, Jennifer Kelly Greene of Milford and James Kelly (Hillary) of Milford; loving grandchildren Dillon (Caitlin), Terence, Christopher, Patrick, Michael, Kathleen, Kevin, James, John and Kate, son-in-law Michael Croke and several very close cousins.  Jack is predeceased by his daughter, Marcella Kelly Croke, and his sister, Jeanne Kelly McLaughlin.
