John C. Hicks, 90, of Washington passed away peacefully at 2:25am, Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Washington Christian Village.
John was born on July 12, 1926 in Model, TN the son of Delbert and Nancy Rogers Hicks. He married Evelyn Amacher on August 18, 1945 in Corinth, MS. she passed away on August 2, 1996 in Peoria. He was also preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
Surviving are three sons Richard Doug (Elaine) Hicks of Washington, IL; John M. (Gina) Hicks of Long Beach, CA; and Kevin Michael Hicks of Champaign, IL. Also surviving are five grandchildren, two step grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren.
John was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in November 1946. He was employed by Caterpillar Tractor Co. from 1949 until his retirement from the Mossville plant in 1987, last working as a supply quality engineer. He was also a Licensed Real Estate Agent working for Brownfield Realty in East Peoria.
