John C. Duck, Captain USN retired, died August 19, 2011. He was born May 25, 1928 in Long Beach Mississippi to A.W. Duck and Mary Hampton Duck. He was a graduate of the University of Mississippi and received a MBA from George Washington University. He also graduated from the Naval War College and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces. As a naval aviator he served on the carriers Coral Sea, Oriskany, Boxer, Yorktown, Ticonderoga and Constellation. The Legion of Merit was given to him at his retirement from active duty in the Navy. He was married to Bonita Boarman Duck for 56 years. They have three daughters, Karen Flood, Alison Smith, and Mary Pallon. The Ducks lived in Flagstaff, Arizona from July 1972 until June 2009, and in Scottsdale, Arizona since June, 2009
