John C. Dorsey, age 80, of Buford, GA passed away Friday, August 6, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Sandra Sadler Dorsey.
He is survived by his children, Douglas Cunningham of Gainesville, daughter-in-law of 32 yrs, Lisa V. Pope of Flowery Branch, Rosalyn Dorsey of Buford, Jeffrey Dorsey of Buford, Kimberly Dorsey of Duluth, Cassandra Gocka of Buford; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sisters, Cinnie Bell Carson of Buford, Annie Laura Clark of Decatur, Patricia Rogers of Buford, Zoeller Dowdy of Winder; special friend, Gail Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Dorsey was born October 28, 1940 in Flowery Branch, GA.
He was a 1958 graduate of the Buford City School System. He was retired from General Motors Assembly Plan in Doraville, GA after 42 years and a member of the U.A.W. Local 10. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Flowery Branch, GA. He was the Commander of Legion Post 534 in Buford, GA and a Petty Officer 1st Class in the U. S. Navy when he retired.
