John B.(Jack) Buckley died peacefully on December 16, 2016 at Kaplan House in Danvers surrounded by his loving nieces, nephews, and Danvers friends. Jack was born in Boston on July 19, 1927. He was the son of the late Lillian Bowles Buckley and James Emmett Buckley. Jack grew up in Jamaica Plain and in Swampscott, graduating from Swampscott High School. He attended Merrimack College in North Andover and was a proud member of the first graduating class of Merrimack. Jack was honorably discharged from the United States Navy in 1946 having served aboard the USS Paul G. Baker and the USS Gunson.
