John M. Bailey, Sr., of Pinson Alabama passed away at Saint Vincent’s East Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama on Thursday, June 12, 2014. He served in the Air Force from January 13, 1951 until October 31, 1953. John worked for Hayes Aircraft as a supervisor for several years before starting his own business, a manufactured wholesales line of pet supplies in Center Point, Alabama. He was the proud owner of Apex Sales Corporation and Hearboy Leather Company for 48 years. John was very much a people person, but his true passion was for animals. He would feed and take care of any kind of critter, no matter how big or small. John was preceded in death by his parents, J. I. Bailey and Beulah Bailey Wilson; one daughter, Diane Marr. He is survived by his loving wife, Sarah Bailey; son, John M. Bailey, Jr.; daughters, Teresa Stephens (Ronnie) and Lisa Reed; sister, Virginia McNutt; brother, James Bailey (Frances); a special cousin Cecilia Crittenden; six grandchildren: Robin Garner, John “JJ” Edward, Garner, Kayla Mattingly, Jason Reed, and Chance Mullinax; one great granddaughter, Jazmine Garner.
