Obituary of John Arno Arlt
Arlt, John Arno “Sonny”; age 84 of Saginaw MI, passed away peacefully on Saturday May 14, 2016 at HealthSource of Saginaw. John was born in Saginaw on August 14, 1931 to the late Charlotte (Brauer) and John Arlt.
John graduated from Saginaw High School in 1949 and enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served in Germany. After four years in the military, he returned home to work for his father at Ideal Manufacturing, producing The Ideal Twin Laundry Tub. Then on July 27, 1963 he married Lorraine V. Sak.
After his father’s death, John continued the family business. One of his many contributions to Ideal Manufacturing was the invention of the Portable Parts Washer until he closed shop and retired in 1986.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lorraine (Sak) Arlt, two sons: John G. Arlt and his wife Michelle, and Eric D. Arlt and his wife Lia; three grandchildren: John George, Beau Christian and Eric Michael; and many nieces and nephews.
