John A. Apone, age 92 years, of Buzzards Bay, died Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Keystone Place in Bourne. He was the husband of the late Helen (Whiting) Apone, and the son of the late Michele and Adelina (Malzone) Apone. Born on April 7, 1927, in the Hyde Park section of Boston, John was a graduate of Fitchburg State College, Bachelor’s Degree and Westfield State College, Master’s Degree. He worked as a wood shop teacher for the Ludlow School Department. John was a United States Army veteran of World War II. He enjoyed woodworking, making his hand-carved birds and clocks. He also loved walking with his hand-carved walking stick. He was very active with the Lions Club in Ludlow, Cape Cod, Dennis and Melbourne, Florida as well as on a national level. He was the father of Gregory Apone and the late Jeffrey Apone. He also leaves a brother Thomas Apone of Hingham and a sister Filomena Neri of Buzzards Bay, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grand nephews, family members and friends. He was the brother of the late Domenic, Annunziato and Salvatore.
