“I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course, I have kept the faith”
2 Timothy 4:7
Our dear husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, finished his earthly mission on January 25, 2014. He was given more challenges than most, but he faced the trials of life with faith and courage. He was born in Ogden, Utah, in 1937, to Olivia A. Nielsen, and James A. Parks; and also had several loving foster parents. Most of his early years were spent in the Lee Richardson, John Noorlander, and Bryant McKay homes.
He just celebrated his 51st wedding and sealing anniversary with his loving wife, Judy Wangsgard Parks.
He was an educator by profession, and taught many of his talents to his children. His family was the joy of his life, and he prayed daily for them.
He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Lake View Ward. He had an unwavering testimony and lived a very Christ-like life. He served an honorable mission in the Southwest Indian Mission, and was a member of a Branch Presidency, and also a member of a Bishopric.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; sons, David J., Steven G. (Tiffany), and Roger B (Stephanie); and daughters, Holly (Rick G.) Ashton, and Melissa (Kirk D. ) Heiner; 19 wonderful grandchildren, and many loving extended family members and friends.
