Dr. John Adams of Milford, CT passed away peacefully October 14th at age 97 with his family at his side. He was the beloved husband for 24 years to Breta (Manley) Mudrick Adams. Born on October 12, 1917 in Bridgeport CT, he was the son of Nikola and Anastasia Adams, and graduated from Central High School in Bridgeport and the University of Connecticut where he played football and baseball. During WWII, he served in the United States Army Air Corps as a B-17 navigator based in England. His plane was shot down in 1943 and he was sent to Stalag Luft 1 prisoner-of-war camp in Germany for 18 months. After the war he attended St. Louis University School of Dentistry and, after receiving his degree in dentistry, served in England during the Korean War setting up a dental clinic. John established his private dental practice in 1952 and served the Milford community for over 40 years. He also served as Past President of the Milford Dental Society and Milford Lions Club. A member of the alumni associations of the University of Connecticut and St. Louis School of Dentistry, John was also a member of the Milford Yacht Club, Riverview Country Club and Racebrook Country Club. He lived an active life playing golf, tennis, bowling and bridge. John was also an avid sports fan and followed his favorite teams, the New York and San Francisco Giants.
In addition to his wife Breta, he is survived by his five devoted children; Denise Kukiel and her husband Peter of Bethany, R. Christopher Adams, D.D.S. and his wife Karen of Orange, Randy Adams and his wife Dana of Hamden, Michael Adams, Ph.D. and his wife Susan of Hudson NH, and Susan Soltis and her husband Thomas of Bethany; his loving stepdaughter Robin Mudrick and 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was predeceased in 1989 by his loving first wife Regina (Milewski) Adams and by his 2 brothers Nicholas and Charles Adams.
