John A. Siegrist, 92, of Silver Ridge Park West section of Berkeley Twp., NJ, passed away at home on Saturday, November 18, 2017. Born in Jersey City, NJ, he lived in Madison, NJ before moving to Berkeley Twp. 10 years ago. John was owner of New Providence Disposal Company in New Providence, NJ for 22 years, retiring in 1989.
He was a US Navy WWII veteran, serving in the Navy Armed Guard unit. He participated in the invasion of Normandy. John was a parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Berkeley Twp., and was a member of the VFW Post 10185, Berkeley Twp., the Knights of Columbus, Livingston, NJ and the Seaside Italian American Club.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Carmela (nee Tarantino); his first cousins Domenic Falcone, Marlene Franklin, Dr. Frank Franklin and Rose Jacobs.
John was also loved by his many nieces and nephews.
