John A. MacLean, age 76, of Fairfield, Connecticut and Hobe Sound, Florida, and beloved husband of Carol Devine, died on August 20, 2016, after a long illness. Born on July 9, 1940 in Toledo, Ohio, he was a long-time resident of Connecticut. John graduated from Ottawa Hills High School, where he was an avid football player and swimmer. John is a 1962 graduate of Colgate University and was actively involved in his alma mater, as a brother of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, serving as President of the Colgate Club of Fairfield, a member of the Maroon Council and establishing an endowment in his name. John served proudly in the Air Force in South Korea. John enjoyed a career as CPA and partner of Price Waterhouse Coopers. He served as President of the Connecticut Society of CPA’s and as a professor at Pace University. John loved to travel, enjoy his grandchildren’s sports and academic endeavors and play golf at Hobe Sound Golf Club and Aspetuck Valley Country Club, where he served as Golf Chairman and on the long-range planning committee. John is pre-deceased by his first wife, Marcella Faris. John is survived by his wife, Carol, and his daughters, Bonnie Sheehan and her husband, Michael, and Karen Fry and her husband, Simon, and his grandchildren, Lindsay, Annika and Nicholas Sheehan and Jack Fry. Survivors also include his stepchildren and spouses, Kerri and John Przygocki and their children, Maggie, Erin and Kelly; Thomas and Mary Jeanne Devine and their children, Finn and Pippa; and Meghan and Alessandro Verselli and their children, Lucia, Tosca and Romeo.
