John A Fisher, Sr., age 72, of the Town of Lee, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on July 22, 2020.
John was born in Rome on March 14, 1948 to the late Irene Van Norton Fisher. John attended school in Rome, NY, and received an Associates’ Degree from MVCC. On July 9th, 2002, he was united in marriage to the former Caroline Franco. John worked at the Rome DDSO, retiring as a supervisor after nearly 37 years of service.
John is survived by his loving wife, Caroline; his daughter, Holly (Kevin) Amici of Rome; stepchildren, Michelle Kloster of FL, Kelly Sprague of Clinton, Kevin Wakefield of FL, and John White of Rome; his grandchildren, Kirsten, Nicole, Brentyn, Joshua (Meredith), Toddy, Alexis, Isabella, Helena, Jessica, and Jeffrey; his great grandsons, Joshua, and Luciano; four sisters, Judy Dashiell, Lorraine (Bob) Piersall, Donna (Ron) Ramsdale, and Marilyn (Doug) Skinner; two brothers, Richard (Ruth) Fisher, and Bobby (Donna) Pippen; several nieces and nephews; and brothers and sisters in law, Tony (Carolyn) Franco, Catherine Franco, Frances (Gerald) Fiorini, Frank Franco, and Brad Simons. He was predeceased by a son, John Fisher Jr. in 2019.
The family would like to extended a special thank you to Hospice, the nurses, Dr. Alessi and the many special friends for their care and compassion shown to John.
