John A. Ellis, 94, of Anderson, passed away April 24, 2017 at Community Hospital Anderson, IN. He was born June 7, 1922 in Wallis, Idaho and resided most of his life in Anderson.
John graduated from Butler University.
He was retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors.
John served his country in the United States Army in WWII.
John was a lifelong sports fan and loved the Cleveland Indians.
John is survived by his son, John “Chip” Ellis Jr. of St. Joseph, MO, son, William David Ellis of Anderson, daughter, Missy (Steve) Tufts of Tuscon, AZ, 7 grandchildren, Jessica, Travis, Chad, Ryan, Meaghan, Brett and Hailey. John is also survived by a great-granddaughter, Valerie, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Suzette Ellis, mother, Allis Ellis, father, William N. Ellis, brother, Dr. William Ellis, and his sister, Marguerite Ludwig.
