Johanna E. Najamy Johanna Elisabeth (Geyselaers) Najamy, 88, of Danbury, wife of the late Arthur Najamy, died at her home on Friday, August 2, 2013. Mrs. Najamy was born in Holland, January 1, 1925 and came to Danbury as a war bride in 1946. She raised her family in Danbury and worked for fifteen years at Davis and Geck. She assisted her husband build and operate the Amber Room of Danbury for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur in 1985 and her son, Martin in 2012. Her parents, three brothers and two sisters also preceded her. Mrs. Najamy leaves three children, Arthur “Gunga” Najamy and Annelise Sluti of Danbury and Melvina Strijdonk of Tuscon, AZ; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by her brother and sister in law, Sam and Bobbi Geyselaers of Vermont and her sister, Wilhelmina Ubags of Holland. She is also survived by her second family, beloved companion of eighteen years, Arthur Lehmann, his three daughters, sons in law and seven grandchildren. A beautiful lady and wonder mother, she lit up a room! She will be sorely missed.
