JoEllen Marie Marshall (age 69) of Hoschton, GA passed away on Monday, July 19, 2021.
JoEllen was born in Baltimore, MD to Harry and Dorothy Bigalke (both deceased).
She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, John; her cherished children Erika and Matthew Dovie of Hoschton, GA and John and Kimberly Marshall of Catonsville, MD; and three wonderful granddaughters, Amelia and Addison Dovie and Eliza Marshall. She also had three siblings: Harriet (deceased), Carole, and Mark.
JoEllen graduated from Archbishop Keough High School in Baltimore, MD, and attained an Associates Degree from Dakota County Technical College in Minnesota. While she served in many roles throughout her life – including caterer and innkeeper – her favorite job was that of Destination Specialist for Adventure Travel in Montgomery, AL. She lived in many places, made many friends at each, and was a positive influence in all the activities in which she was involved.
JoEllen was a giving person: volunteering her time with her children’s activities, helping friends in arts and crafts or cooking, making and donating quilts to the NICU where her daughter works and making craft items as gifts for friends and family. She also loved to travel – especially cruising – and had many memories of journeys throughout the US and around the world. She made a positive impact on the people she met and had many long-term friendships. She was loved and will be missed.
