Joel Scott Dobson. Joel was born on May 11, 1971 in Fort Worth, TX and died on December 25, 2017 in Scottsdale, AZ. Joel was the middle of three children born to Jane (Miller) and Bobby Dobson. Joel attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX where he played baseball from 1989-1993 and graduated with a BBA in Accounting in 1993. Joel later achieved his CPA accreditation in 1995. Joel married Holly Bennett in 1995. Upon graduation from TCU Joel worked for KPMG in Fort Worth and Phoenix from 1993-1999, Athens Group from 2000-2005 and most recently served as Senior Vice President of Finance for Discovery Land Company, Scottsdale, AZ. Of primary importance to Joel was his family. He is survived by his wife Holly of 22 years, son Bennett (16), daughter Berkley (14), his mother Jane Dobson, sisters Julie Wallace (Mike) and Jana Gateley (Patrick), sister-in-law Heather Weber (Ben), father-in-law William Bennett (Becky) and 7 nephews (Kolton and Konner Pittman, Ethan, Micah and Grant Gateley, and Jackson and Braden Weber). He is preceded in death by his father Bobby Dobson and mother in-law Lesley Bennett. Joel’s quick wit and sense of humor were second to none. He was an avid TCU supporter who loved sports of all kinds. He developed long lasting, deep-rooted friendships that spanned many states.
