Joel Whitfield Miller, 71, of Des Moines, IA, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at his home under the care of EveryStep Hospice.
Joel was born September 4, 1951 in Des Moines the son of Donald and Eglantine (Leudsinger) Miller. He received his education in the Des Moines School system and attended East High School.
Joel was a trucker most of his life and worked for various companies throughout his years.
In his free time you could find him playing pool or riding his motorcycle in his own personal parade waving and honking as he passed by his friend’s homes. He was a member of various motorcycle clubs during his years. He also had a passion for Martial Arts and enjoyed all the disciplines.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter Brittany, one brother Arthur and two sisters, Minnette Britt and Nancy Miller.
Joel is survived by the love of his life, Pamela Chappa, three sons, Joel Miller of Des Moines, Shane Miller of Tempe, AZ and Jessie (Alea) Miller of Ankeny, six grandchildren which include Michael, Adrian, Kristopher, Kendall, Kylah and Gianna. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
