Joel Coranetta Branch, age 79, of Cassopolis, died peacefully Wednesday, October 19, 2016 in Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana, in the peace and comfort of her family. She was born on July 5, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois, the second of six children of Edwin and Florence (Williams) Johnson, Sr.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Peggy Johnson; and two brothers, Robert Johnson and Winston Johnson, Sr.Joel lived most of her life in Cassopolis, and recently returned after a thirteen year absence.
Her family says that not only was she excited about moving back to Cass, but that the last four weeks were some of the happiest in her life. She was glad to be home.
Joel will be greatly missed by family and friends. She leaves to cherish her memory and continue her legacy, her two daughters, Jill Branch of Indianapolis, Indiana and JoAnn (William Thomas) Branch of Canton, Michigan; two brothers, Edwin (Cheryl) Johnson II of Detroit, Michigan and Joseph (Miday) Johnson, Sr., of Indio, California; and a host of nieces and nephews.
