Joe W. Lloyd, was born in Waycross, Georgia on July 30, 1930. He grew up in Waycross and after graduation from high school was married to Juanita Wallace, from Climax, Georgia.
He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1951, his first assignment was Turner Air Force Base in Albany, Georgia, where he began his Military career as a Line Cook.
