Joe J. Stewart, 81, of Oxnard, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at Community Memorial Hospital, Ventura.
He was born October 19, 1930, in Marlin, TX to the union of Benjamin Stewart and Mamie Allen. Prior to his retirement, Joe was employed by the government for 34 years. Joe proudly served his country for four years in the U.S. Army and four years in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged.
He is preceded in death by his mother; father; six sisters and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife Deborah, his children Deborah, Yvette, Brenda, Cherylyn and Danita (Jonathan III); his stepchildren, Von Gilmore Jr., and Ursula Gilmore; 18 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
