Our cherished husband, son, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend, Joe Rodriguez. Jr., passed away on January 3, 2016. It is with heavy hearts we mourn his passing. We joyfully celebrate his new life free from pain and suffering. We celebrate his reunion with his son, Joseph Sean Rodriguez who passed away March 30, 2010.

Joe was born July 20, 1946. He attended Crozier Technical High School until 1963. With required permission from his mother, Dora Alonzo, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp at age 17. Joe was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he earned several medals. He served eight years with distinction as a Marine.

Joe married his childhood sweetheart, Carmen Maldonado. Together they raised their two sons Mark Thomas and Joseph Sean. After their son’s passing, they also helped raise their granddaughter, Lauren Rodriguez.

In 1972, Carmen and Joe opened Rodriguez Printing. They have operated this business together for the past 40 years. His success in his printing business can be directly attributed to his work ethic, integrity and military training. His attention to detail was legendary as well as his compassion for others. He always took pride in his work and in all he did. He made many long lasting friendships in his business.
He survived by his wife and best friend, Carmen, his son Mark Thomas, his granddaughters Lauren and Jenny Rodriguez and great grandson Christian Garza. He also leaves behind his mother, Dora Alonzo and his sister Sandy, and nieces Nina and Desiree. He also leaves behind many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews who loved him dearly and will miss his presence in their lives.

Family will receive guests from 5 pm to 8 pm at Hughes Family Tribute Center on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, with the rosary recited at 6 pm.
