Joe Rocha, 95, went to his Eternal Heavenly Home on November 13, 2019 at 11:02 PM while at Nature Trail Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon, where he was given excellent care. His daughter Christine R. Sharpe and her husband Ray Sharpe were at his side.
Joe was born on April 29, 1924 in Kemp, Texas to Mary (Pavone) and Binato Rocha. He joined the U.S. Army and served in WWII as a teen. Joe was an airline mechanic for 30 years with American Airlines after the war.
He married Celia Rodriguez and they had 5 children. He is survived by his wife, 1 son and 3 daughters: John Rocha, Carolyn Williamson, Maria Elzy, and Christine Sharpe; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and a daughter: Cynthia, who passed away in 1967.
Joe loved to travel, golf, fish and dance. He enjoyed gospel preaching and worship music at the Rock Church.
