Joseito was born on July 20, 1936 to Jose Luis Mir and Amalia Alvariño in Havana, Cuba.
In 1956, Joseito met Neyda at a friend’s “quinceañera” party. Their attraction was immediate and complete, and they began their courtship, which led to marriage which lasted 64 years. Joseito and Neyda went on to have 2 children, Lisette and Cari.
Joseito is survived by his wife Neyda, his daughters Lisette and Cari, and his six grandchildren, Frankie, Alexa, Daniel, Christopher, Sophia, and Bianca.
