Joe Mackie Powell, 83, died at Thomas Hospital on
October 11, 2015. He was a native of Citronelle, AL and a
resident of Spanish Fort, AL. Joe was a member of Three Forks Baptist Church, Bigbee, AL. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Joe was a lifetime member of ABBA Shrine Temple and was a member of Spanish Fort Lodge 916 F.A.M. In years past he enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and was a master turkey hunter. Joe enjoyed playing golf too. His favorite teams were the Atlanta Braves and the Alabama Crimson Tide. Joe was a great conversationalist and never met a stranger. He enjoyed feeding hummingbirds. Joe loved to watch his daughter, Belinda, play softball for 27 years and also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
