Joe Hollo, 95 of Manchester passed from this life Wednesday, November 6, 2019.

Joe was born March 20, 1924, in Johnson City, Illinois to the late Paul and Anna Hollo.

He previously resided in Avenel and Hopelawn prior to moving to Leisure Village West in 1993. He was a loving and devoted husband of 69 years, a loving and proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved nothing more than to spend time at family gatherings. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He retired from Rickel’s as a Department Manager in 1988.

He was a Lifetime Member of Knights of Columbus Council #9134. When he resided in Avenel he was a parishioner of St. Andrew’s RC Church and served as an usher for 26 years and was past president of the Holy Name Society. Upon moving to Manchester he became a parishioner of St John’s RC Church. He was a man of great faith. Joe was a loyal St. Louis Cardinal Baseball Fan and loved all types of sports including bowling, billiards, and golf. He enjoyed playing pinochle and poker with his Leisure Village West friends. Joe started each day by saying it looks like it is going to be another beautiful day. To know Joe was to love him. He was one of a kind. His spirit will live on in all of us.

Joe is predeceased by his parents Paul and Anna Hollo; his sons Joseph and Michael Hollo; his brother Paul Hollo and sister Theresa Hollo.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Constance (Witzak) Hollo; his daughters Linda Vetter and her husband Lou of Prescott Valley, AZ, and MaryBeth Kimberlin and her husband Kevin of Kendall Park, NJ; his 4 grandchildren Jon, Kayleigh, Michelle and Kristopher and 2 great-grandchildren Gia and Stasia.
