Joe Gurvis Brewer of Sheridan, Arkansas was born April 30, 1944 in the family home in Sheridan, the son of the late Girvin B. and Lois Lybrand Brewer. He was a member of Little Creek Missionary Baptist Church, American Legion, and B & G Hunting Club. He was retired from Entergy as a transportation manager.
Joe joined the United States Air Force. He was a proud veteran and served his country doing 2 tours in Vietnam.
Joe died Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Sheridan Healthcare and Rehab at the age of 78.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Lois Vernall Bradbury, Geraldine May, Mavine Gray; brothers, HG “Pete” Brewer, William E. “Crook” Brewer and James E. “Bud” Brewer.
Survivors: wife of 32 years Kathleen Whitaker Brewer; son, Eddie (Dorothy) DeMoss; daughter Patty (Scott) Knox all of Sheridan; sister Chlorine “Priss” Haralson of Judsonia; 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and friends and his precious pet Amos.
