Joe E. Schatz, Jr., 79 of Birmingham, was reunited with the love of his life, Judy on November 1, 2017. Joe was an avid bass tournament fisherman. He was a pitcher for the San Francisco Giants. The loves of his life were family, friends and fishing. Joe is survived by his loving children, Jan, Jeri, Joe and Jimmy; sister, Linda; brothers, Donny and Bo; his grandchildren, Jeremy, Jacob, Jessie, Tommy, Justin, Jamie, Joshua, Jorja, Jordan and Cameron; great grandchildren, Tessa, Jake, Justyce, Raegan and Raylan; numerous nieces and nephews.
