Joe Donald Marshall was born March 2, 1938, and died October 16, 2021, at the age of 83 in Merritt Island, Florida. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gail Crump Marshall, children Annette Green (Richard), Daniel Marshall (Chris), Suzanna Hargraves (Richard) and grandchildren K, Jonathan, and Benjamin Marshall, Jacob, Asher and Madelyn Hargraves and Courtenay Green. He is also survived by his brother Ronald Marshall (Wathena) and nephews Rob (Angie) and Brian Marshall.
Joe Marshall was born in Bokchito, Oklahoma the son of Henry Joe and Thelma Brackett Marshall. He graduated from Austin College in 1960 and received his master’s degree from the Florida State University in 1962.
Joe enjoyed time with his family, his 1956 Denison High School class reunions, and he and his wife’s world travels. After moving to Texas at 6 months of age and sharing a birthday with the State of Texas’ Independence Day, he considered himself a Texan. For many years, he and his wife hosted an annual Texas Chili party enjoyed by friends and family. Tennis, fishing, and golfing were activities thoroughly enjoyed by Joe. In his retirement he retained his zeal for reading and learning in a variety of genres and topics including new technological advances. He enjoyed painting and art, a talent he inherited from his mother. He was a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and of the National Society Sons of the American Revolution.
