Wasilla resident, Jocelyn Mae Grendell, 84, passed away on November 13, 2019. Born May 30, 1935, in Regent, North Dakota, daughter of the late Ralph Coffing and Margaret Novak Tabor. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Dana Grendell; two sons, Mark Timken, his wife Karen; and Matt Timken; two sisters, Beverly Mayo, Georgann Weer; two grandchildren, Jeremy Timken and Nathan Timken; two great-grandchildren, Dionne Timken and Bryce Timken.
Jocelyn is beloved by her entire family as she showed great love and devotion to her family over her entire life as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. While starting out as a stay-at-home mom, Jocelyn grew interested in government work and spent a long and successful career with the State of Alaska until she retired.
Jocelyn was a very faithful and devout Christian, especially in her later years. She prayed vigilantly for family and friends daily and always would bestow blessings on all she met. She would always strike up friendly conversations with people she casually met in stores, restaurants, and on the street. She was a blessing to all of us and will be sorely missed.
