Jack was born in San Juan, TX on December 13, 1952, to Joaquin and Maria Garcia. Jack did farm work and eventually moved from Texas to pursue farm work in Idaho. There, young and hardworking, he met the love of his life, Bertha Garcia, at the Parma Motor Vu Drive-in. While dating, Jack and Bertha enjoyed going to dances in Caldwell winning her over to be his wife when they married on August, 14, 1969. They chose to settle in Parma, ID, and have spent the last 46 years together in Parma remodeling their home, raising their four children, and enjoying their life with grandkids, family, and friends.
Jack eventually moved into the line of construction building, repairing, and maintaining residential and commercial buildings. Jack used these acquired skills to remodel their home for his wife and family often working from Bertha’s honey-do-list. One of his greatest achievements was building a ramp for his brother-in-law. Jack was often seen grilling in his driveway. His was an expert in barbecuing ribs and steaks that would gather large groups of family and friends.
Jack is survived by his father, Joaquin Garcia, Sr.; his wife, Bertha Garcia; his children, Joaquin Garcia III, Elias Garcia, Janie Boyer (Albert Boyer), and Cecilia Garcia (Lauren Theresa); his grandchildren, Cameron Compton, Courtney Garcia, Jacqueline Garcia Percifield (Tanner Percifield), Cody Hedges, Eric Gonzalez, Joaquin E.
