Joao “John” Luis Medeiros Moniz, 60 of Caldwell, died Thursday, June 23, 2011 at home of natural causes.
John was born September 15, 1950 in Sao Miguel, Azores the son of Joao and Madalena Medeiros Moniz. He came to Chowchilla, California in 1977 where he worked as a dairy farmer. In 1981 he returned to Azores where he married Goretti Arruda in 1982. They returned to Chowchilla in 1983 and then moved to Emmett, Idaho in 1994 where they operated a dairy farm until 1998. They came to Caldwell in 1998 and operated a dairy until 2009. John has been employed with Walmart since September 2010.
Surviving are his wife, Goretti of Caldwell; a son, Chris of Caldwell; a brother, Joe Moniz and four sisters, Connie Sousa, Helena Barbosa, Filomena Silva and Maria José Costa and numerous nieces and nephews.
